Helina Yuheng He (She/They) was born in Zunyi, a mountainous area in China. Helina's interests and professional background has been summed up by three spreads: design, research, and art and craftmaking. Her practice, which aims to respect and understand the commonplace actions of humans, has been informed by human-animal relationships, Y2K digital aesthetics, and her anthropological interest in "bian-di" (or the concept of borderland).

She studied speculative design and art history at the University of California San Diego, furniture design at the Rhode Island School of Design, and glass at the Pilchuck Glass School. She received her B.F.A. in Industrial Design with dual concentrations in art history and cultural studies from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2023, and an MSc degree in Visual, Material and Museum Anthropology at the University of Oxford.

Helina is a curious prototyper, an adaptive artist and educator, and a researcher-grounded designer. She creates thoughtful and playful products, services, graphics and experiences aimed for a deep grasp of the social system to inspire love and positive impact for the community. She has expertise with product and UI/UX design, research, curation, workshop facilitation, and set design.
